Revlon Colorstay Whipped Review

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Review

I have owned and tested this foundation now for the past few months. After being a big fan of the regular Revlon Colorstay foundation, I decided to give the whipped version a try.

Revlon describes this foundation as:

Finally, truly decadent makeup offers ultimate performance. The mousse-like texture feels like silk on your skin. And, the time release formula balances skin for a flawless look. All day flexible wear without flaking, caking or feeling heavy.

It comes in 16 shades and is described as having a matte finish and 24 hour wear.
I found the prices for this foundation range anywhere from the 10-14 dollar range. Depending on  where you purchase it.
It comes in a glass jar packaging with a plastic lid that screws into place. The jar contains 0.8 fluid ounces. Which is only slightly less than most foundations which contain 1 fluid ounce.

The color I chose was Sand Beige
Here are some swatches with flash photography and in natural lighting :

Color selection can be quite difficult. In stores the jars are sealed and the thick glass packaging can distort the color. I suggest trying a few shades and returning the ones you cannot use.

The consistency of this foundation is really interesting. It definitely has a whipped texture, but when you spread it on the skin it almost feels like a silicone primer. It blends easily and beautifully. I've found that using a flat top synthetic brush or my fingers both apply the foundation well and without any trouble.

The finish of this foundation, although is said to be matte, is more of a satin finish or demi-matte finish. It's definitely not a dewy foundation but it isn't a flat matte finish. The finish mimics natural skin very well.

This foundation is said to last on the skin for 24 hours. I cannot say that I've worn it that long. But I've worn this foundation a good 8-10 hours and it lasted quite well, with little to no signs of wear.

The coverage of this foundation is medium to full. It's definitely build-able coverage. You can sheer it out for a light coverage or layer it for full coverage.

Overall I would recommend this foundation as a great drugstore option. It has great coverage, lasts all day, and gives the skin a beautiful finish.  It is quickly becoming one of my favorite foundations and I prefer it over many of my high end foundations.  So if you're looking for a good quality, affordable foundation, give this a try! :)
